EveryBand vs the WHOOP app: choose your data path

Compare EveryBand with the official WHOOP app: independent scores, supported straps, membership boundaries, local processing and history offload.

Boop is becoming EveryBand. The iPhone app and TestFlight listing still use Boop for now.

Last updated: October 16, 2026

Start with the experience you want

The official WHOOP app connects its hardware to WHOOP's own membership service and proprietary insights. EveryBand is an independent iPhone app with direct supported-strap access, optional Apple Health input and export, and its own on-device wellness estimates. The choice depends on which experience you want to keep.

EveryBand does not reproduce WHOOP's official Recovery or Strain scores, unlock WHOOP membership services, or replace every function of the official platform. The public brand is EveryBand; its iPhone beta and purchase labels still use Boop and Boop Full.

Current model support is described on our compatibility page. A supported connection does not guarantee every physiological measurement or control on every firmware version.

The same signal can produce a different score

WHOOP describes Recovery using HRV, resting heart rate, sleep and other physiological context. Shared input names do not make two implementations equivalent: recording windows, filtering, personal references and score scales can differ.

EveryBand's current Full Recovery requires local nightly RMSSD, resting heart rate and Sleep, plus sufficient complete prior nights. Its documented Apple Health HRV input is SDNN, displayed separately; it does not fill a missing nightly RMSSD requirement. Read the Recovery method before expecting a score from a particular setup.

Understand the history and membership boundaries

EveryBand does not sign in to a WHOOP account or check membership status. That describes its own connection path; it is not a universal promise that every strap or manufacturer service will operate without a membership. Check the model, firmware and membership guide before changing your setup.

There is also an important offload consequence: after EveryBand safely saves and acknowledges strap history, it may trim that acknowledged history from the strap. Trimmed history can be unavailable to the official app. EveryBand requires acknowledgement before enabling this workflow. Keeping both apps installed does not guarantee independent access to the same unsynchronized strap history.

Who each option suits

Choose the official app when WHOOP's own scores, membership features and manufacturer-managed experience are central to why you own the hardware. EveryBand is not a way to retain those services under a different app name.

Consider EveryBand when you want an independent local iPhone companion, supported direct strap sync and control over optional Health access. Its one-time Full model may fit your preferences, provided the beta and measurement limits fit your needs. TestFlight purchases are free sandbox transactions and do not transfer to App Store ownership.
