Setup and troubleshooting

Support without asking for your health data.

Practical steps for connecting a compatible strap and moving supported records into Apple Health—without asking you to send health data.

Boop is becoming EveryBand. The iPhone app and TestFlight listing still use Boop for now.

Last updated: October 16, 2026

How do I set up EveryBand?

This sequence describes direct strap setup in an available beta build. Keep Boop in the foreground until the initial history pass finishes.

  1. Check the available TestFlight build. Open the TestFlight invitation on a compatible iPhone. TestFlight shows which builds you can install and their requirements. Optional Apple Health input is available with or without a strap.
  2. Enable Bluetooth and keep the strap nearby. Charge the strap, leave Bluetooth on, and stay close. A strap can already be system-connected even when it does not appear in a normal scan.
  3. Pair a new strap or choose a saved strap. Open Settings → Pair a new strap. To add a band, put it in pairing mode with blue lights blinking, tap Find a new strap, and choose it in Apple’s accessory sheet. To reconnect an existing band, choose it under Saved straps. EveryBand is independent and not affiliated with WHOOP.
  4. Grant only the Apple Health permissions you want. Apple Health is optional. Choose the permissions you want, or select Set Up Later during onboarding. Local strap processing continues without Health export; denied permissions are not bypassed.
  5. Complete onboarding acknowledgements. Read the history-trim and wellness disclaimers. EveryBand requires explicit acknowledgement before enabling history offload that may remove data from the strap.
  6. Stay in the foreground for the first sync. Keep Boop open while history processes. Check status, diagnostics, and the activity log locally before force-quitting.

Apple Health setup with or without a strap

The current TestFlight beta includes optional Apple Health input, with or without a strap. This path uses sleep, HRV (SDNN), resting heart rate and activity already recorded by Apple Watch or other Health sources. It is not a live Apple Watch stream or a watchOS app. Direct strap Bluetooth features remain available.

EveryBand’s documented Health HRV input uses SDNN and remains separate from the local nightly RMSSD estimate. The documented Recovery calculation requires nightly RMSSD, resting heart rate, Sleep and sufficient prior nights. Health SDNN does not substitute for RMSSD, so Health input alone does not guarantee a Recovery score.

Read the Health sync guide for source timing and permissions, or the Apple Watch Recovery guide when data is visible but a score is missing.

Choose Apple Health on Your data during setup. Select the types you want in the system permission sheet, or Set Up Later. Missing data stays unavailable; Apple Watch may save readings later rather than supplying a live stream. Check Health access in Settings and refresh after data has been recorded.

EveryBand is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WHOOP, Apple, or Bevel. Third-party product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only for factual compatibility and interoperability descriptions.

Which WHOOP models does EveryBand support?

Keep your strap charged and nearby, enable Bluetooth, and grant only the Apple Health permissions you want EveryBand to use.

Direct Bluetooth integration covers WHOOP 4.0, WHOOP 5.0 and WHOOP MG, with model and firmware limits. Battery, firmware and supported history have been tested on all three models. Background imports have been observed on WHOOP 4.0 and MG; timing depends on iOS and Bluetooth range. Unrecognized history formats remain unavailable. MG ECG and WHOOP 4.0 temperature and oxygen calibration are not yet validated.

A strap can be connected at the system level even when it does not appear in a normal Bluetooth scan. Leave Bluetooth enabled while EveryBand looks for both nearby and already-connected devices. EveryBand is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WHOOP.

Why isn’t EveryBand writing data to Apple Health?

  • Open Boop in the foreground and confirm the strap is connected.
  • Check Boop’s permissions in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.
  • Allow history processing to finish before force-quitting the app.
  • Use EveryBand’s status and activity log for local diagnostics.

Do not send health exports, diagnostic archives, screenshots containing health data, or device logs through the contact form.

Does EveryBand remove history from the strap?

After EveryBand saves and acknowledges strap history, it may trim that acknowledged history from the strap. Trimmed history can be unavailable to the official app. EveryBand requires an explicit acknowledgement during onboarding before enabling this workflow.

How does Apple Health permission work?

Apple Health decides whether each requested data type can be read or written. A permission may be changed later in iOS Settings. EveryBand cannot silently bypass a denied permission. You can choose Set Up Later during onboarding; local strap processing still works without Health export. Health export may be unavailable while the phone is locked.

Frequently asked questions

Which WHOOP models does EveryBand support?

Direct Bluetooth integration covers WHOOP 4.0, WHOOP 5.0 and WHOOP MG, with model and firmware limits. Battery, firmware and supported history have been tested on all three models. Background imports have been observed on WHOOP 4.0 and MG; timing depends on iOS and Bluetooth range. Unrecognized history formats remain unavailable. MG ECG and WHOOP 4.0 temperature and oxygen calibration are not yet validated. EveryBand is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WHOOP. WHOOP names are used only to state factual device compatibility.

How do I connect a strap to EveryBand?

Keep your charged strap nearby with Bluetooth enabled. Open Settings → Pair a new strap. For a new band, use pairing mode with blue lights blinking, tap Find a new strap, and choose your band in Apple’s accessory sheet. For a previously paired band, select it under Saved straps. Apple Health permission is optional.

Why isn’t EveryBand writing data to Apple Health?

Confirm the strap is connected in Boop, review Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices for Boop’s permissions, and allow history processing to finish before force-quitting. Health export can be deferred while the phone is locked. Use EveryBand’s local status and activity log—do not send health exports or logs through contact.

Does EveryBand remove history from the strap?

After EveryBand saves and acknowledges strap history, it may trim that acknowledged history from the strap. Trimmed history can be unavailable to the official app. EveryBand requires an explicit onboarding acknowledgement before enabling this workflow.

Does EveryBand upload my health data?

EveryBand processes strap and Health data on your iPhone and does not upload it to EveryBand-operated servers or use it for advertising. You control optional Apple Health export and any files you choose to export or share. Health synchronization and device backup follow your Apple settings. Optional PostHog analytics apply only to this website after cookie consent—not to the app.

Is EveryBand free, and is it on the App Store?

EveryBand is planned as a free download with an optional one-time Boop Full purchase, with no subscription or EveryBand account. Check TestFlight for builds available to you; App Store release is pending. TestFlight purchases are free sandbox transactions and do not carry over to the App Store. The purchase sheet shows the localized price when a paid purchase is available.

Can I use Apple Watch data without a strap?

The current TestFlight beta includes optional Apple Health input, with or without a strap. This path uses sleep, HRV (SDNN), resting heart rate and activity already recorded by Apple Watch or other Health sources. It is not a live Apple Watch stream or a watchOS app. Direct strap Bluetooth features remain available.

Are Health HRV and strap HRV the same measurement?

No. A local nightly RMSSD estimate may be available from admitted strap intervals when quality and coverage gates pass. Generic experimental RR variation is not qualified RMSSD or Health HRV. Local interval-based estimates do not establish verified beat timing, wear state, ECG accuracy or eligibility for Health SDNN export. Missing readings remain unavailable rather than becoming fabricated scores.

Can I use EveryBand without enabling Apple Health?

Yes. Choose Set Up Later during onboarding. Local processing of supported strap data continues without Health export. Health-based context needs the corresponding read permissions, and you can change permissions later.

How do I restore Boop Full?

Open the Boop Full purchase screen from Settings and choose Restore Purchases using the Apple Account that made the purchase. TestFlight sandbox purchases do not transfer to the App Store version.

Is EveryBand a medical device?

No. EveryBand is experimental wellness software. Outputs may be approximate and must not be used for diagnosis, treatment, emergencies, or other safety-critical decisions. Seek qualified medical care for health concerns.

Is EveryBand affiliated with WHOOP, Apple, or Bevel?

No. EveryBand is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WHOOP, Apple, or Bevel. Third-party names are used only for factual compatibility and interoperability. Apps such as Bevel may read Apple Health only if you authorize them separately.
