Data sources and hardware

Your wearable is a source, not your whole health story.

Check the source and hardware requirements for your installed build. TestFlight shows available builds and their iOS requirements.

Boop is becoming EveryBand. The iPhone app and TestFlight listing still use Boop for now.

Which straps does EveryBand support?

Direct Bluetooth integration covers WHOOP 4.0, WHOOP 5.0 and WHOOP MG, with model and firmware limits. Battery, firmware and supported history have been tested on all three models. Background imports have been observed on WHOOP 4.0 and MG; timing depends on iOS and Bluetooth range. Unrecognized history formats remain unavailable. MG ECG and WHOOP 4.0 temperature and oxygen calibration are not yet validated.

Compatibility can change with strap firmware, iOS, Bluetooth behavior, and Apple Health availability. Available features are not a guarantee for every configuration.

What does direct Bluetooth access do?

EveryBand uses Apple’s CoreBluetooth APIs with device-specific services and commands to receive live readings and stored history. Connection and sync can automatically synchronize the strap clock and acknowledge safely stored history for trimming on the strap. Alarm, haptic and other controls are available only where supported by the selected model and firmware.

EveryBand does not sign in to a WHOOP account or check membership status. Compatibility still depends on the hardware, firmware, and setup; no universal membership-free operation is promised. Public Bluetooth APIs do not establish manufacturer authorization or intellectual-property permission. EveryBand is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WHOOP. WHOOP names are used only to state factual device compatibility.

How does EveryBand fit next to the official app?

This comparison is factual, not a ranking. EveryBand is a separate local health companion that computes its own wellness estimates, keeps direct strap sync and controls, and supports optional Apple Health access. It does not claim to reproduce official vendor scores or the whole official wearable platform experience.

Apple Watch through Apple Health

The current TestFlight beta includes optional Apple Health input, with or without a strap. This path uses sleep, HRV (SDNN), resting heart rate and activity already recorded by Apple Watch or other Health sources. It is not a live Apple Watch stream or a watchOS app. Direct strap Bluetooth features remain available.

EveryBand’s documented Health HRV input uses SDNN and remains separate from the local nightly RMSSD estimate. The documented Recovery calculation requires nightly RMSSD, resting heart rate, Sleep and sufficient prior nights. Health SDNN does not substitute for RMSSD, so Health input alone does not guarantee a Recovery score.

Apple Health setup does not require a strap or Bluetooth permission. Available readings depend on what your wearable and other apps recorded, your permissions, and the installed build. No additional wearable model is claimed as a direct Bluetooth integration.

EveryBand is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WHOOP, Apple, or Bevel. Third-party product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only for factual compatibility and interoperability descriptions.

What about Apple Health?

Apple Health is an optional source of longer-term context and a destination for permitted exports. Local strap processing continues when Health export is off. Available data types depend on your iOS version, region, hardware, and permissions. Health export can be deferred by iOS, especially while a device is locked.

Can other apps read the same Health records?

Apps such as Bevel may read records from Apple Health if you separately authorize them. EveryBand does not send data directly to Bevel, is not affiliated with Bevel, and cannot guarantee how another app interprets Apple Health records.

Is EveryBand affiliated with WHOOP?

EveryBand is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WHOOP. WHOOP names are used only to state factual device compatibility.
