Ask Boop: local explanations, Apple Intelligence and fallback

Learn what Ask Boop can explain from available records, when Apple Intelligence is used, and why local fallback and missing-data limits matter.

Boop is becoming EveryBand. The iPhone app and TestFlight listing still use Boop for now.

Ask for an explanation of the available record

Ask Boop, part of Boop Full, helps explain the wellness facts the app already has. Start with a specific day, trend or measurement you can see, and read the answer alongside those records. A useful explanation should make the available information easier to understand while preserving its limits.

EveryBand is the public brand; Ask Boop remains the literal in-app label during the transition. Check TestFlight for the build available to your device and pricing for the current feature scope. An explanation cannot supply an observation that your device did not record.

Understand where the numbers come from

The app calculates its numerical scores before a language-model explanation is generated. HRV processing, Sleep, Recovery, Strain and other estimates follow their implemented calculation rules and input requirements. They are not all generated by AI.

A fluent answer does not add evidence to the underlying score. If required inputs are missing, the score can remain unavailable. If a night has limited coverage, an explanation should be read with that limitation intact. The methodology describes those boundaries.

Apple Intelligence is used when it is available

The current implementation can use Apple's on-device system language model through the Foundation Models framework when that model is eligible and ready. Availability depends on the supported Apple environment, including device capability and model readiness.

Having the app installed does not guarantee that the model is available for every request. Settings, supported languages and the installed system can affect the path. The relevant status on your own device matters more than a general claim that an app has an AI feature.

EveryBand is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple. Apple's platform technology does not make EveryBand's physiology models clinically validated.

Local fallback keeps explanations available

When the system model is unavailable or a response fails, deterministic local guidance remains available. This fallback works from supported facts and predefined explanation logic. Its scope can be narrower than a language-model conversation.

A shorter or more structured response does not necessarily mean your health data failed to sync. Check whether the underlying records and scores are present. Conversely, a detailed response does not prove that a missing record has arrived. Explanation availability and data availability are separate checks.

The product does not need a cloud AI account to turn already-derived facts into its supported local fallback responses.

Keep the question within the evidence

Use Ask Boop to understand displayed context, compare available periods and locate information worth reviewing in the app. For training history, check the completed Strength records; for a habit pattern, check the actual Journal answers and comparison coverage.

Ask Boop cannot establish the medical cause of a change, diagnose a condition or certify a safe exercise dose. Journal associations remain associations even when described in natural language. Read advice with your circumstances in mind and seek qualified care for health concerns.

Know the privacy boundary

EveryBand's native explanations run locally under its on-device model and fallback paths. There is no EveryBand health-data server or native app analytics. Optional Health access, Apple's synchronization and backup settings, and files you choose to export or share are separate pathways explained in privacy.

Website analytics, newsletter signup and support communications have their own disclosures. Do not paste health histories or detailed logs into the website contact form to troubleshoot an explanation. EveryBand is not a medical device and must not be used for diagnosis or treatment.
